 About Me
The Sweetest Hound Mix Looking for Her Forever Home Meet Ellie, a gentle and affectionate hound mix whose soft personality wins everyone over. She’s recovering beautifully from pneumonia and is getting stronger every day. As she heals, her true personality is shining through — calm, sweet, and eager to bond with her people. Ellie spent time at the rescue with an 18 month old and an 8 year old and did wonderfully. She’s gentle, patient, and comfortable around children. She walks nicely on a leash and tends to follow behind you. With a little structure and confidence-building, she’ll be an excellent walking partner. Road trips? Ellie is in. She hops into the car on her own and settles quickly, making her an easy and relaxed travel companion. She uses the doggie door, listens well, and redirects easily with a firm “no” or a hand clap. She’s a quick learner and would benefit from basic training to help her stay consistent as she continues to feel better. Ellie loves her toys and will pick her favorites out of the basket. It’s adorable and shows her playful, curious side.

 Why You’ll Love Me
Ellie has clearly had a tough life. I am not sure she was ever loved or in a home. It is clear that she had puppies at some point. She was picked up as a stray the end of May and was put on the dreaded Euth list at the shelter because she was fearful when in reality, she was very sick. She had a bad case of pneumonia with significant trouble breathing. It's taken over a month for her to start to feel better. The number of meds she was impacted not only her physical body, but they made her hyperactive, restless, and manic. It's been a tough road for Ellie. She deserves her forever family!
